| KAEDE (Ka-eh-day: Japanese for 'maple') is located at the historic Coburn Home at 16 North Main Street. Built sometime before 1845, the home is Federalist with Greek Revival highlights. For a long period of its history the Coburn Home was a care facility for elder citizens of Ipswich. Located just above town, it provides an excellent location from which guests can enjoy everything the town offers. Jason and Makiko have used their combined 45 years of living in Japan to tastefully accent the property, and are both potters whose work can be found throughout KAEDE. Come enjoy Olde New England with a tasteful touch of far eastern culture and hospitality. Both Japanese and English are spoken in the inn. Eleven guest rooms available, full western and Japanese breakfasts served daily. |
